AudioPocket app & volca sample FAQsUpdated 6 months ago

Before getting into details please make sure the software in your volca sample is up to date and you have fresh batteries inserted or a power adapter connected to your volca sample.

We highly recommend you start with a clean slate before you start by deleting the volca sample's entire memory with the utility in the app. Don't worry, any of the factory samples can be restored at any time.

What happens to the sample memory when I transfer a sample?

The sample in the specified sample slot number will be overwritten. This means that if you are overwriting a short sample with a long one, you are going to need more memory, or you may get the "FuLL" error if you are close to your 4MB limit.

I get this error: Err typE

Make sure your volca sample system is ver. 1.2 or above.

I get this error: Err FuLL

Your volca sample's memory is full. So use the delete page available in the volca sample system ver. 1.2 or above.

I get this error: Err dcod

This normally indicates that there may be alert sounds or noise preventing the data transfer from working correctly so it is a good idea to set the device to Airplane mode if possible. Another possible cause is that the volume on the device that you are transmitting the data from is either too low or too high so it should be adjusted until it works.

Try it nearly at full volume (maybe 80% of the way up) and then if you still get the error message start again at a slightly lower level and repeat the process, if necessary until it hits the sweet spot. You may also want to try it from an alternative device (ie a computer, phone, tablet, etc) and an alternative stereo mini jack cable.

  • Press the REC button to return the sequences to the factory defaults. Press the PLAY button to cancel the restore operation.
